What you and your child can expect from their day

Expect them to have lots of fun! Kids can be unpredictable and may have a hard time adjusting at first. They may or may not want to participate, this is okay. We are all here to have fun, so there will be lots of skill building activities to capture the attention of your kids no matter where they are in their stage of development.

A first timer (never ever skied or snowboarded before) may learn how to put on equipment, stand, balance, walk, get up, and glide. Your child will ride the "magic carpet" lift located in our Children's Learning Area.

Skiing and snowboarding are very physically demanding sports. Children in this age group are just beginning to develop the muscle strength needed to ski or snowboard. Expect your child to try and have fun, not be prepared for the Olympics.

Actual time on snow will vary depending on weather conditions and child's ability.

Before you arrive

Some basic things that will make your child's day more enjoyable:

  • Ensure that they are well rested and have eaten a healthy breakfast.
  • Bring them dressed and ready to ski or snowboard. Remember, Pocono weather conditions can change rapidly. Layer their clothes so they can adjust to these conditions.
  • A backpack with the following items, all clearly marked: Warm hat, neck gaitor, water-proof mittens and snow boots. Two sets of mittens are recommended. Long scarves are not safe and will need to be tucked into jackets, making it uncomfortable for your child to move. Two good pairs of knee socks, long underwear, turtle neck, lip balm, and goggles or sunglasses.
  • Helmets are not required, but please seriously consider the pros and cons of wearing one. Helmets are worn without hats underneath and are available to rent from our rental shop.

Children must be able to use the restrooms without assistance.  Diapers or pull-ups are not permitted.
