TANNERSVILLE, PA – Earlier this month, former Philadelphia Eagle and current Sports Director for NBC-10 in Philadelphia, Vai Sikahema, visited Camelback Mountain Resort to help change the destiny of a deserving and spirited young lady.  In addition to his responsibilities as Sports Director for NBC 10, Sikahema is also the host of “Wednesday’s Child,” a segment sponsored by the National Adoption Center, Freddie Mac Foundation and NBC 10. The program promotes the adoption of children.

Over the past several years, Sikahema has made bi-annual visits to Camelback Mountain Resort, using the family-friendly settings of the ski area and waterpark to showcase the stories and personalities of engaging young people. The goal of these stories is to get deserving children into welcoming homes. During his recent visit, Sikahema commented, “I always appreciate how much Camelback goes out of its way to accommodate us in helping to profile children in foster care so we can place them in adoptive homes. It has been a great partnership for us.”

The broadcast of Sikahema’s most recent visit to Camelback Mountain Resort is scheduled to air on NBC 10 during the 5 o’clock news on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, and again at 9am on Saturday, January 31, 2009.  Camelback Mountain Resort urges everyone to watch this fantastic story about a wonderfully deserving young lady.  But, please do not simply take our word for it; watch the story.  Your heart will be touched by the wisdom, optimism and kindness that spills from this young lady’s heart.

“Camelback Mountain Resort is both proud and humbled by being a part of this very special cause.” Says Arthur Berry, III, President of Camelback Mountain Resort.  Berry continues, “At the heart of our mission, Camelback strives to pull families closer together. We are pleased to partner with Vai and wish all of ‘Wednesday’s Children’ the very best; they will always have a friend in Camelback Mountain Resort.”

After filming this recent feature, Camelback Mountain Resort had the pleasure of hosting Sikahema and eight families who have adopted a “Wednesday’s Child” for a wonderful holiday getaway.
