If you're a beginner skier or snowboarder and want to learn right, Camelback Mountain in PA offers the Explorer Card. This learn to ski or snowboard program is designed specifically for the true beginner who wants to become a dedicated skier or snowboarder and plans to visit Camelback at least three days during the winter season. In 2012, the National Ski Areas Association named Camelback's Explorer Card as the best program in America for converting first-timers into lifelong snow sports enthusiasts.
EXPLORER CARD PROGRAM DETAILS
The Explorer Card is a three-day learn to ski or snowboard experience at Camelback Mountain. Those three days can be consecutive or scattered throughout the winter. On each of the three days, participants receive:
- A 90-minute group ski or snowboard lesson using our state-of-the-art Terrain Based Learning features
- A lift ticket valid on lower mountain lifts from open to close
- Rental equipment (skis/boots/poles or snowboard/boots) from open to close
Daily at 10:00AM, 12:00PM, 2:00PM and 4:00PM. A 6:00PM lesson is offered on weekends and Holiday Periods.
Lesson reservations are not necessary. On the day of your visit, simply present your Explorer Card at an open ticket window at Camelback's main ticket plaza and one of our team members will direct you from there. Arrive at Camelback Mountain's main ticket plaza 90 minutes prior to your desired lesson start time.

Purchase Deadline: Explorer Cards must be purchased by February 15, 2016.
Usage Deadline: Participants have until March 20, 2016 to experience their three Explorer Card days at Camelback Mountain. Any unused days shall be forfeited after March 20, 2016.
Usage Restrictions: Explorer Cards cannot be used January 16-17, 2016, February 13-14, 2016 and February 20, 2016. Otherwise, Explorer Cards are valid to use any day through March 20, 2016.
Lift & Trail Access: Lifts accessible with the Explorer Card's lower mountain lift ticket, based on availability, are Coolmoor Carpet(s) and the Sunbowl I, Sunbowl II & Meadows chairlifts. The Explorer Card lower-mountain lift ticket cannot be upgraded to an all-area lift ticket.
Lost Cards: There is a $25 charge for lost/stolen/damaged cards. Treat them like cash!
Transferability: The Explorer Card is non-transferrable; it is assigned to one person at the time of purchase.
Refunds: There are no refunds on Explorer Cards - even if the card is never picked up or used.
